This is a neighborhood site, and it should work for every neighbor. That includes people who browse with a screen reader, navigate by keyboard, need larger text, or prefer less motion on screen.

What we aim for

We build toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. That is the target we design and test against. We do not claim the site fully meets it, because no honest site can promise that about every page and every assistive technology at once. Where we fall short, we would rather hear about it and fix it.

What is built into the page

• Headings, landmarks, and lists marked up so a screen reader can move through the page in a sensible order.
• A skip link at the very top, so keyboard users can jump straight past the navigation.
• Every control reachable and operable by keyboard, with a visible focus outline.
• Text descriptions on photographs, and decorative graphics hidden from screen readers so they do not add noise.
• Color combinations chosen to hold up at normal text sizes, with color never used as the only way to tell something apart.
• Layouts that reflow down to a narrow phone screen without a horizontal scrollbar.
• Respect for your system setting when you have asked for reduced motion.

About the accessibility button

The button in the corner of the page offers larger text, higher contrast, underlined links, and reduced motion. It is a convenience for visitors who want a quick adjustment without changing their whole system.

It is worth being straight about what that button is and is not. An overlay of this kind does not make a website accessible, and we do not treat it as evidence that we have met any legal standard. The real work is in the markup, the contrast, and the keyboard order described above. The button sits on top of that work rather than standing in for it.

Known limitations

• Several links here send you to L&C Royal Management, Nextdoor, and other outside sites. Those pages, and the PDF documents on them, are outside our control and we cannot vouch for their accessibility.
• Some community photographs are decorative and carry only a short description, which will not convey everything a sighted visitor sees.
• We test with keyboard navigation and standard screen readers, but not with every assistive technology on every device.

Telling us about a barrier

If something on this page blocked you, we want to know, and we will do what we can to put it right. Call the management office at (305) 228-7326 and ask for your message about the community website to be passed along. Please describe the page you were on, what you were trying to do, and the device or assistive technology you were using, since that makes the problem much faster to track down.

For anything official concerning the association, including accessibility of association records or facilities, L&C Royal Management is the correct route on the same number.
